I came across an incredible prayer a few years ago. It was written by A.W. Tozer immediately following his ordination into the ministry at age 23. I’ve printed out this prayer and have it in my Bible. I use it during my prayer time periodically. I used it again this morning. Wow! What a prayer!

Well, the first day of VBX is in the books. We had 226 kids last night! One team leader was expecting 17 kids in her group and ended up with 35. Wow!
Continue to pray. Looks like the weather is going to be great.
God is good!

Our annual VBX (Vacation Bible X-treme) begins tonight. It’s always a lot of fun. Please pray that many kids will be eternally impacted by the message of Jesus this week. What an opportunity we have to show and share the gospel with them.
Hope to see you tonight!

On Thursday nights I play in a golf league at Riceland. I’ve been playing pretty well this year. My nine-hole handicap is down to a three (3). I was feeling good about that until this past Thursday. How things can change! I shot my worst score of the summer. I totally duffed two tee shots. I shanked a [...]

I came across a great quote by John Eldredge in Living a Life on Loan this morning. Here it is:
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come fully alive. (p.67)
Are you fully alive?

I’m currently reading Living a Life on Loan by Rick Rusaw and Eric Swanson. It’s a great book so far. We’ll probably do an all-church campaign around it this fall. Anyway, there’s one paragraph I wanted to pass along.
This year you’ll have 525,600 minutes. What are you doing with them? What kind of investment are you making [...]

Wow! Is it hot today or what? I’m dreading the 2 hours of mowing I’ve got to do. I know. Quit whining, right?
- I thought Sunday worship went well yesterday at OCC. Many thanks to Uncle Craig for coming and preaching the Word. Remember to “watch your walk” this week! Read James 1:12-18 as a [...]

Last night Noah and I were outside playing basketball. As we were playing we noticed a worm on the sidewalk. After a minute or two Noah decided to bounce the ball on the worm. Ouch! I asked Noah, “Why did you do that? Poor worm!” He said, “I wanted to play with him.” Aren’t [...]
