Vacation

I’ve taken a few vacation days this week. Everyone needs time to unplug and relax. I’m enjoying it. I’ve played golf, hung out with family, and did some reading. Today we bought Noah a “big boy bed.” He’s really excited about it, but we’re quickly discovering it’s a big transition. We put him down about 45 minutes ago and he’s still crying. Pray [...]

Knowing and Being Known

I just read a great column by Dr. James Emery White. Click here to read it. I’d love to hear your comments.

Hangin’ Out with Noah

My wife is attending Women of Faith this weekend in Cleveland. This has given Noah and me some time to hang out. We’ve made two trips to Starbucks, sat on some tractors at Lowe’s, played on the playground at Freedlander Park, watched the new DVD of Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, and ran around the yard at home. Interracial Marriage

Over the last two days the issue of interracial marriage has come up twice. It’s something I haven’t really thought about lately. I’d like to hear your opinion. What do you think? Should a black man marry a white woman or vise versa? Why or why not? Is there biblical support for or [...]

Noah & Play-Doh

Porn Pandemic

One of the vilest evils in our world today is pornography. I quoted some statistics on Sunday from xxxchurch.com. Here they are:
- Porn revenue is larger than all combined revenues of all professional football, baseball, and basketball franchises.
- U.S. porn revenue exceeds the combined revenues of ABC, CBS, and NBC ($6.2 billion).
- Child pornography generates [...]

June Prayer Points

Sorry this is late! I appreciate your prayers on my behalf.
1. Marks of Jesus – We’re going through the Gospel of Mark this summer – at least through chapter 5:20. Pray for my weekly preparation and that people would be drawn to Jesus and “marked” by His life.
2. Strategic Planning – 18 people including [...]

Day in Defiance

I drove over to Defiance, Ohio today to be with my dad on his birthday. He turns 60 tomorrow. After I arrived we enjoyed some coffee at Cabin Fever. It’s not Starbucks, but it was good. I had the usual decaf. We had chicken from the grill, a baked potato, and broccoli for dinner. Very tasty! Dad made strawberry shortcake for [...]
